Vietnam is a country which has many ethnic groups residing with village community model and mostly each village has its festivals. Annually, especially the years when there are bumper crops, villages operate festivals jubilantly.
Every year, after the Tết holidays, when the apricot flowers whiten Huong Son forest, thousands of people make a pilgrimage towards Huong pagoda. The festival season starts from January 6th until the end of lunar March.
Kings Hung temple festival is a crowned anniversary of which, thousands of years passed away under the Chinese domination, the organization is never forgotten by Vietnamese people. It is a great festival on national scale in commemoration of Kings Hung, who had the merit of building the country. The habit to celebrate this anniversary became for a long time the cultural tradition in Vietnam.
Among successive mountains of the immense North-Eastern region, the famous Yen Tu mount is 1000 meters high, like a tower. The feudal dynasties recognized Yen Tu as a beautiful landscape of Vietnam. It is also a Buddhist center of the old kingdom Dai Viet (Đại Việt) and the origin of the Buddhist branch Truc Lam.
There are in Phu Tho three places where the buffalo fighting are organized each year: Hoang Cuong, Phu Ninh, Chu Hoa among which the festival in Phu Ninh is the biggest.
